Calisaan scores career-high 36 as Stags down Knights to claim Final 4 last slot

Michael Calisaan exploded his career best to boost San Sebastian take a staggering 74-69 victory over Letran and officially grabbed the fourth spot and moved on to the semifinals stepladder in the NCAA Season 93 men’s basketball tournament on Tuesday at the Mall of Asia Arena.
Calisaan helped the squad make it back to the Final Four since Season 89 as he finished with his career-best 36 points on 14-of-22 shooting from the field, along with 10 rebounds.
The Golden Stags will now just have to prepare once again as they will face Jose Rizal University in the quarterfinals on Friday.
“Deserving ang mga bata, especially sa nilalaro nila ngayon. I think we deserve to be in the Final Four,” said San Sebastian coach Egay Macaraya, who was celebrating his birthday.
Knotted at 69-all, fourth year Ryan Costelo scored a floater in the last 44.9 seconds to give San Sebastian back the lead, while a missed triple by Jeo Ambohot gave Calisaan the chance to pull off a dagger three in the last 18.3 ticks that sealed the win.
Costelo made it big for the Golden Stags especially in the crucial fourth quarter as he shot nine of his 13 markers.
RK Ilagan and Renzo Navarro both chipped in six points apiece and combined for six rebounds and five assist in the win.
Jeremiah Taladua, on the other hand, topped Letran with 16 points and five rebounds. Bong Quinto added a double-double record of 15 markers and 11 boards along with seven assists, while JP Calvo chipped in 11 markers, seven boards and six dimes.
Meanwhile, graduating Rey Nambatac ended his NCAA career with 11 points in the defeat.
