BIBIANO FERNANDES LOOKS TO KEEP ONE FC BANTAMWEIGHT TITLE AGAINST DAE HWAN KIM

3 December 2014

MANILA, Philippines — Arguably the most decorated mixed martial artist
in the world today, reigning ONE FC Bantamweight World Champion Bibiano
“The Flash” Fernandes (16-3-0) will headline ONE FC: WARRIOR’S WAY
opposite unbeaten Korean prospect, Dae Hwan Kim (10-0-1), Friday night
at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City, Philippines.

Fernandes is a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt who grew up on the
hardened streets of Manaus, Amazonas, Brazil. He has multiple world
Jiu-Jitsu tournament wins and is currently riding an eight fight win
streak, being so far unbeaten inside the ONE FC cage since debuting for
the promotion in 2012.

He is also 3-0 in fights in Manila.

Fernandes became the ONE FC champion after he impressively dominated the
always tough Soo Chul Kim, winning by unanimous decision. Against Dae
Hwan Kim however, Fernandes is expected to face a stiff challenge to his
ONE FC belt.

Kim is undefeated at 10 wins and no losses as a professional mixed
martial artist, recently dismantling highly-touted Filipino warrior
Kevin “The Silencer” Belingon in his last fight by submission. Five of
Kim’s 10 victories are by submission while two are by knockout, making
Kim a true test to Fernandes’ championship mettle.

In the world of combat sports, the best fighting the best is ideal for
fans and the sport alike, but rarely are we treated to such an evenly
matched contest. The main event showdown between Fernandes and Kim
promises fireworks as Kim looks to dethrone the champion in front of a
packed MOA Arena crowd.

Fernandes however will do everything in his capacity to prevent that
from happening, drawing upon his years of experience in Brazilian
Jiu-Jitsu to nullify Kim’s ferocious offensive. With both fighters
ripped and ready for action this Friday, tensions rise and fans can
expect an all-out war to unfold inside the ONE FC cage.

When two fighters of this caliber collide, the outcome is anything but
predictable and fans can expect edge-of-your-seat excitement at ONE FC’s
biggest show of the year.

Apart from the exciting main event, Team Lakay fighters Eduard Folayang,
Kevin Belingon and Honorio Banario all get to see action along with
ferocious flyweight Rene Catalan of Catalan Fighting Systems. Also on
the card is the ONE FC debut of Filipino-American heavyweight, Brandon
“The Truth” Vera as he takes on URCC champion Igor Subora of the Ukraine.
Former professional boxer Jujeath Nagaowa and former WBO women’s
bantamweight champion Ana “The Hurricane” Julaton will kick things off
for Team Philippines in the preliminary bouts.
