Manila, Philippines – After a four-day break due to the typhoon, Adamson University came back to the game soaring for a 90-76 win over University of the East, Wednesday in the UAAP Season 81 men’s basketball tournament at the Mall of Asia Arena.
Adamson remains on top of the ladder with a 2-0 record, while UE slid to two losses.
Down three points in the second quarter, 25-28, stalwart Jerrick Ahanmisi gave the Soaring Falcons a much-needed push to take over the game.
Ahanmisi exploded 10 points in the second quarter for a 17-0 run that eventually gave them a 42-32 lead coming into the second half.
The Falcons never looked back as Jonathan Espeleta scored a corner triple that extended their lead to 20, 67-47, in the third quarter.
Sean Manganti exploded his career-best of 27 points for the Falcons, while Ahanmisi had 17 points.
Despite Alvin Pasaol’s double-double record of 36 points and 10 rebounds, it was still not enough to lift the Warriors from losing the game.
