The Adamson Lady Falcons finally tallied their first win in four games in the UAAP Season 81 women’s volleyball tournament after demolishing the National University Lady Bulldogs in straight sets, 25-15, 25-19, 25-22, Sunday at the Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City.
Subsequent to winning the first two sets in a dominating fashion, NU threatened to extend the match in the third set after cutting down the lead, 19-20. But the determination of the Lady Falcons prevailed as they escaped the Lady Bulldogs via a running attack from Joy Dacoron.
In a dramatic turn of events, Adamson needed to adjust right away in this match under the newly-appointed coach Rogelio Getigan in lieu of former coach Air Padda who called the shots for the Lady Falcons for three seasons.
Fortunately, the seniors Bern Flora, Joy Dacoron, and team captain Eli Soyud rose to the occasion as they carried Adamson to their first win that is dedicated to their erstwhile coach. All of them were in double-digits, with Flora leading the way with 15 points.
Rookie Cess Robles once again had an impressive performance with 12 points.
