The Adamson University Lady Falcons ended the elimination round on a high note, quelling the Far Eastern University Lady Tamaraws in four sets, 25-22, 26-28, 25-15, 25-17, in the UAAP Season 85 women’s volleyball tournament, Sunday at the Filoil EcoOil Centre.
After winning the first set, Adamson was stunned by the FEU rally in the latter part of the second set.
The Lady Falcons were already at set point but a series of miscues from their side coupled with clutch plays from the Lady Tamaraws cost them the second set. FEU stole the set point after an error from Lorene Toring, followed by an off-the-block attack from Alyzza Devosora.
However, Adamson quickly recovered in the succeeding sets and never looked behind as they tallied their best eliminations record in recent memory.
Four Lady Tamaraws scored in double digits led by Kate Santiago with 21 points on 20 attacks and a kill block. Trisha Tubu finished with 18 markers, including 15 attacks and three block points.
Meanwhile, Jovy Fernandez topscores for FEU with 18 points as they ended the season at sixth spot.
Adamson will face the defending champions NU in the semi finals on Wednesday.
